1st day in Sandakan

today is officially our first day in Sandakan.

so early morning we have a walk to find house to stay. we still not adapt with the new atmosphere, so 7pm here is like 9 in peninsular. we end up with renting a car for the day to move around. and advise for those from peninsular, DO NOT DRIVE if you're NOT CONFIDENCE WITH YOU SKILL. because the driver here is no jokes. the are far more extreme that those in peninsular.

the town here are very close between one another. we don't really explore each one, but we manage to found ourselves Bank Islam and a number of different bank (unfortunately we can't locate Maybank, odd), Giant, a number of flats and police station. here you will found numerous school and strangely church. since most of the people we found are Chinese spoken, i assume there will be many tokong.

we also took a little tour at Hospital Duchess of Kent since we're going tomorrow. the staffs' are very nice and friendly. they helps us contact a person that know about vacant house in the area. he turn out to be a very friendly and chatty.

lucky we found a house for the ladies. walking distance form the hospital. but the price was, ARGH! semi-D, 1,500. but it's a big house. i mean, 8 bersaudara tak ada masalah nak duduk rumah tu. bilik gedabak, nak main sepak terajang pun boleh. but since it has been vacant for sometime, the house condition is not very welcoming. the handler give us a week to decide whether we want to stay or go for another house since he know a few option available.

he offer me a house at Sentosa Court, a 2 room apartment i think for 1.2K. i was like what the hack. ingat cop duit ke hapa. so now, i'm crashing in with a few seniors. hopefully i will find a house or at least a room to rent by tomorrow. and that the water problem at the ladies house will be resolve soon. they however interested in the Sentosa Court since it has guards and all. but it's a bout 1km form the hospital. so they might need to take the bus to the hospital.

so that's it for day 1 in Sandakan. tomorrow will go reporting for duty at HDOK and officially becoming a pharmacist.
